BIO
My name is Jordan Blackmon and this is my sixth year teaching and coaching at Troup ISD. This year, I’ll be teaching Physics and IPC. I’ll also be coaching High School Football and Baseball. I am happy to be able to be a part of such an amazing school district.
I grew up in the small town of Elkhart, TX, about an hour from Troup. After High School, I first went to Angelina Junior College for two years then I then attended Stephen F. Austin State University and graduated in May 2008. I loved my experience there and encourage any graduating senior to consider SFA as their college of choice. I received my Bachelor of Science in Geography with a minor of Geology.
I have been happily married for 14 years to my teenage love, and we have two beautiful children, Riley(9) and Evie(5). In my free time I like playing with my kids, taking my wife to the movies, watching baseball and football, playing church league softball, winning fantasy football championships and camping.

Teaching Philosopy
I believe learning can best take place when students are in an environment in which they feel free to interact. It is my job to encourage questions and critical thinking. My goal is to prepare students for the “real” world by helping develop disciplined work habits and responsibility.
